Skoda Scala: the Czech Seat Leon uncovered
The Skoda Scala has been completely unveiled and you can safely say that it is not a simple substitute for Spaceback. This is a serious attempt to make things difficult for other cars in the C segment such as the Seat Leon, the Ford Focus or the Peugeot 308.
So that you get an idea how is the Skoda Scala before it reaches the street , we are talking about a car almost as big as the Volkswagen Golf. The passenger compartment is made with a new generation of soft materials . Among them are the soft foam surface and the optional Suedia microfiber upholstery. It is also available with LED environmental lighting with two available colors, in the same style as the Karoq.
Motors and Scala change
At its launch, the Scala can be chosen with only five engines. In gasoline you will have three options : two with the 1.0-liter TSI block and three cylinders with 95 HP or 115 HP, and one with the 1.5-liter TSI and four-cylinder with 150 HP.
The only diesel version that it will have is the 1.6-liter TDI with 115 HP and 250 Nm of maximum torque. And as a finishing touch, a G-Tec unit of 1.0 liters and 90 HP that runs on natural gas ( GNC ). Options for the gearbox include two five-speed and six-speed manual and one DSG dual-clutch automatic with seven gears.
